Did I mention Elation?

Elation!

Imagine if you can, getting information from a highly respected genius who has immense knowledge about a serious problem you face. Imagine if that information is confirmation that your problem has been fixed, that your fears, worries and sleepless nights are now a thing of the past. If you can grasp this revelation, then you understand how my last week has progressed.

Dr. David Rice, thoracic surgeon at MD Anderson, confirmed that my dad is still "cancer-free". Don't you just love the sound of that phrase "CANCER-FREE"! If ever I wanted to run out of a doctor's office jumping up and down and screaming it was surely then!

Then follow that news with a month long battle to figure out why your child is ill. Spend countless hours at doctor's offices, see your child poked and prodded with test after test...and still be in pain. Then, just when you thought there was no cure....some new medication relieves the pain! Elation again!

That's how my life has been - consumed by worries about the health of those around me. Trying to hide the fear, so they won't see it. Trying to keep on the game face, so they will not be afraid.

Time now to take a short vacation to celebrate the health of those around me and make a few more moments in my life.
