Alas, I think the cool and wet summer we've grown accustomed to, has finally vanished. Faded now as a memory we'll recall in the years ahead of the "Summer of 07" when 17" of rain fell overnight in Marble Falls and July "hi" temps could barely break 80 in South Texas! Wow!
Dennis is overworked and overwhelmed with construction issues. He's been burning the candle at both ends for so long, he's nearly to the middle now. I've tried to be as positive as I can through all of this, but there are so many other issues that rear their ugly heads - those outside things that just give him more grief and concern. I'd really like to insulate him, but the nature of his life/job make that virtually impossible!
Emily is back at TTU and finishing up Summer II. She still struggles with what it means to be an Adult. She wants to be grown up, but she just isn't there yet. I'm ready for her to be there, but I guess God has another plan right now. So patience and prayer...she'll get there one day!
Shelley and Steve are starting to fall comfortably into that "Old Married Couple" groove! Bella keeps them entertained, or should I say jumping! Steve seems to tolerate his job, not sure how much fun that is. Shelley will soon face a new room of 4th graders at Meador. Ah, lots of promise and anticipation.
I'm really looking forward to our Summer Cruise. We leave here on the 24th of August and spend a couple of days in Fort Lauderdale, before we sail for 7 days to the Eastern Caribbean. Dennis has never deserved a vacation as much as he does this year!
I'm pretty busy with unusual things at work. Performance and Payment Bonding..that's a new $$$ we've not had to have before. We're also looking at changing banking relationships - that's always a lot of paperwork for me.
I spent a week at Marble Falls last week, all by myself. I think I could handle living up there now. The quiet and solitude were welcome relief from a summer of events!
Well I should close now and go do some chore that I've been putting off this evening.
Overall, I'm happy with my place in life. Wish everyone of my children and husband were too?
Until later,
PB, the Queen
