First Day

So today I officially joined the masses of the universe who "Blog". As I have advanced in years, I am beginning to understand the need to document events. I wish that my parents and grandparents had had the opportunity to keep journals like this. It's hard to recall exact events in your life when you get older and there are some many events jockeying for space in your small memory. So I start today, keeping a journal of what is going on in my world and in my mind. This shouldn't be a long entry! HAHA! Dennis and I, along with Shelley and fiance Stephen are headed to the Woodlands for a few days of R&R. We're staying at the Woodlands Resort and Conference Center. This is Labor Day weekend for those of you keeping score. It's a hot and wet summer in Texas for us. Emily's in Lubbock, watching the Red Raider's kick SMU's butt. This will be an experience for her..she'll be watching the game from the Student section instead of the Goin Band stands! Mental state today: excited about the weekend, sad Emily's not here to join us, and sick of hot weather. To do list: Mail the Stover's anniversary gift, get approval from Shelley on painted votive candle holders, get in touch with wedding caterer to finalize contract, fill up all vehicles while gas is $2.37 at Walmart. Later...
